Recipe of Mushroom Curry Along with Health benefits. Mushrooms have the health benefits from high cholesterol levels, breast cancer, prostrate cancer, and diabetes. It also helps in weight loss, increasing immunity. In one small mushroom has as much potassium as a banana. They are grown year-round in Canada and even in other countries. Actually they’re an edible fungus. The Egyptians thought eating mushrooms would make them immortal – and they weren’t even available for the common folk to eat!

People who forage for mushrooms are known as mycophagists. They can be used to dye wool and other fibres (What?! That’s crazy!) Even in China is the world’s largest commercial producer of mushrooms. But Mushrooms don’t require any sunlight to grow.

Recipe of Mushroom Curry:

I’ve noticed that fresh whole button mushrooms are a better option than the sliced ones sold in the supermarkets.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg. mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 tsp. ginger paste
  • 1 tsp. garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp. coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp. chilli powder
  • 1 large potato, cooked peeled and cubed
  • 1 tsp. salt or to taste
  • 1 tbsp. oil

Process to cook:

Heat the oil in a small non-stick frying pan (or skillet), and fry the onion and tomato, after the add ginger and garlic pastes together wait for 2 to 3minutes. Then add cumin, coriander, turmeric and chilli powders and keep them for five minutes. Finally add the mushrooms and potatoes, season with salt and cook for another 10minutes until done. Once it is ready take that curry into serving bowl and taste it with White rice or chapatti or roti, puri ect… hmmm yummy my mouth is watering it…  A baked potato topped with mushrooms is ridiculously delicious.… I am giving you that wonderful recipe here…  So why don’t you try it?
